University of Miami Cardiovascular Faculty

Our cardiovascular fellows learn from our top-notch teaching faculty at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine led by Yiannis Chatzizisis, MD PhD the Chief of the Cardiovascular Division at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. 

There are a multitude of clinical and research programs where our cardiovascular fellows learn cutting edge technology and cardiovascular medicine. 

Jeffrey J. Goldberger, M.D., M.B.A.  our past chief and Director of our Center for Atrial Fibrillation at the Miller School of Medicine.  The center is funded via NIH grants and conducts various trials and research in the treatment and prevention of atrial fibrillation and other cardiac arrhythmias. 

Our Interventional Cardiology team at the University of Miami Hospital & Clinics – UHealth Tower provides exceptional care and the latest treatments in interventional cardiology.  There are ample opportunities for our fellows to learn including our Complex coronary & CTO program, Structural Heart program, PERT interventions, and novel renal denervation program in conjunction with or AHA certified Hypertension program.

 

There are currently 27 full-time faculty members in the University of Miami cardiovascular division.  In addition, the fellows also rotate with our UM faculty members while rotating through the Miami VA Medical center, and our affiliated or voluntary faculty members who remain part of the Jackson Cardiology medical group at Jackson Memorial Hospital and across the Jackson Health systems.

Our core faculty remains committed to the education and professional development of our cardiovascular fellows.
